Advocacy & Accompaniment
Hospital Accompaniment
If you have been the victim of a recent Sexual Assault or Domestic Violence encounter and you want to get care at the Brantford General Hospital, a member of our team can accompany you for support. Police will only be involved should you choose for them to be. You do not have to report the crime to have an exam, but the process gives you the chance to safely store evidence should you decide to report at a later time. You can also receive medical care at this time, should you require and request this.
Call 519-751-3471 and request hospital accompaniment.
Court & Police Accompaniment
Our staff can provide accompaniment, information, and referrals for survivors engaging with the criminal justice system.
Most often, if you wish to report a Sexual Assault, Childhood Sexual Abuse or other Tech Facilitated Sexual Violence (eg. “revenge porn”), an officer will be dispatched to your home or wherever you can be safe. A member of our team can wait with you and offer support during the reporting, as we know how difficult this process can be.
